Spraying apple and peach tree- when and how?

I have a peach tree, and two apple trees in my backyard, I live in Ohio. The trees are 5-10 years old, not sure exactly how old. Every year some sort of bugs get in and ruin the fruit. THe aples are stunted and don%26#039;t grow all the way for insect infestation, and half the peaches are ruined. I know about thinning the peaches.


I want to know when should I spray my trees, and with what, to prevent the insects and get a decent fruit crop this year.

Spray your fruit trees as soon as the temps reach 45-50 degrees with horticultural or neem oil, safe for fruit trees. This oil will smother the adults, nymphs and larvae bugs which over winter. Then spray every 2-3 weeks to control any newer infestations. Your local garden center will turn you in the right direction in which product to use that is safe for fruiting trees.
Reply:I spray every 14 days. If you spray things that aren%26#039;t going to last very long you need to spray more. As a homeowner seven and malathion are two good sprays and captan for the fungicide. Will be cheaper to look somewhere for a fruit tree spray mix so you only have to buy one bag. If you use a hand sprayer with a wettable powder, strain the spray with cheese cloth so the sprayer will not clog up. Store the wettable powder dry so it will keep. If you use seven make sure you don%26#039;t put to much in or the chemical will burn the trees in the sun. Very safe to use though because you can let people enter the spray zone after it drys.
