Peach Tree Leaf Curl!?!?!?!?

Okay I live in Indiana and I have a 2 year old peach tree that looks SOOO HEALTHY!! Anyway, I just realized that I have peach tree leaf curl from all the rain in april and may!! I have looked at many different websites about treating it and some say treat it now and others say wait until september and some say wait until january and february. I am concerned that my tree will die. Have you had this problem and what is the outcome with the health of the tree and the fruit???

The best organic spray to use is Lime-Sulfur. You spray it when the tree is dormant in the very early spring before the buds swell. You can%26#039;t spray it now or it will burn the leaves.

A fungicide called %26quot;Bravo%26quot; can also be used and sprayed now. But it%26#039;s really to late for this year.

Your tree could loose most of the leaves and have no energy for the crop. The tree will probably live but be very weak. I would give it more nitrogen fertilizer. Spray it next year and you can expect 100% control.
Reply:It%26#039;s a fungal problem. The spores are already present, and you can%26#039;t get rid of it now. You *might* be able to stop the spread.

Anyway...in the fall, rake the leaves and remove them from the property. The spores will overwinter in the fallen leaves.

Then in late winter - you%26#039;ll need to spray the whole tree with a fungicide to prevent the infestation next year.

Fungus is one of those problems that once you actually SEE it, it%26#039;s kinda late to do anything for that year. Now that the fungus has %26quot;found%26quot; your tree...continue the hygiene of removing the leaves every fall, and applying preventative fungicides in late winter/early spring.
