Good peach desserts?!?
INGREDIENTS

1 (29 ounce) can sliced peaches, with juice

1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix

1/2 cup margarine

1 cup white sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Pour canned peaches into a 9x13 inch baking pan; make sure juices cover peaches, if not add a small amount of water to just cover fruit. Mix peaches with 1/2 cup of the sugar and sprinkle cinnamon to taste into mixture.

Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over top of peach mixture. Poke holes into cake mix to allow juice through. Cut stick of margarine into small pats, placing randomly over the top. Sprinkle with the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar and a light dusting of cinnamon.

Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the juice mixture is bubbly and the top of the cake mix topping is crusty and golden brown.
Reply:Grilled Peach Sundaes with Blackberry Sauce

Serving Size : 4

Vegetable oil (for oiling grill)

2/3 cup Blackberry Jam

1/3 cup orange juice

4 firm-ripe peaches or nectarines

2 cups French Vanilla Ice Cream

Prepare barbecue grill and preheat for direct, medium-high heat (the charcoal or gas flame is directly under the cooking area, and you can hold your hand just above grill level only 3 to 4 seconds; click here for details). For charcoal grill: Before you put the grill over the hot coals, brush it with a light coat of oil. For gas grill: When hot, brush grill with a light coat of oil.

While grill heats, in a small bowl, mix jam and orange juice. Halve and pit fruit; if pit can%26#039;t be removed easily, use a paring knife to cut around pit to remove.

Lay peach or nectarine halves cut side down on lightly oiled grill (close lid if using gas) and cook until cut edges are beginning to brown, 2 to 4 minutes.Turn peaches over with tongs. Spoon about 1 tbsp. of the jam mixture into the

hollow of each half and continue cooking until fruit is hot, 3 to 5 minutes longer.

Spoon a scoop of ice cream into each of 4 dessert bowls and, with tongs, set peach halves in each bowl. Drizzle fruit equally with remaining jam mixture and serve immediately.

Helpful Tips: This recipe calls for peaches that are slightly firm, rather than at their peak of ripeness. Grilling them will caramelize the sugars and ensure that they taste sweet.

Peach and Yogurt Soup

Serving Size : 4

2 pounds peaches -- ripe, peeled

1 1/2 cups peach yogurt

2 tablespoons port wine -- Tawny Port

1/3 cup Johannisberg Riesling

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

pinch nutmeg -- freshly grated

fresh mint leaves -- for garnish

Cut the peeled peaches in half and remove the pits. Cut the peaches into small cubes. Cover and refrigerate 1/4 cup of the cubed peaches for garnish.

In a food processor, puree the remaining cubed peaches until smooth.

Pour the peach puree into a bowl and stir in the yogurt, port, Riesling, ginger and nutmeg. Whisk to blend well. Cover and refrigerate until well chilled, at least 4 hours.

Ladle the soup into chilled bowls and garnish with the reserved cubed peaches and mint leaves. Serve immediately.

Serving Tip: This soup is particularly good as a first course for a light outdoor luncheon. You could also serve it as a refreshing finale to a warm-weather dinner.

NOTES : Any variety of peach or nectarine works for this soup. To peel fuzzy peaches with ease, blanch them first. Fill a large saucepan three-fourths full of water and bring it to a boil. Using a sharp knife, score an X in the blossom end of each peach. Immerse 2 or 3 peaches in the boiling water and leave for 15 to 30 seconds, just until the skin begins to wrinkle. Using tongs or a slotted spoon, transfer the peaches to a large bowl of ice water to cool completely, then peel away the skins. Repeat until all the peaches are peeled.

Peach Cream Tart

Crust:

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened

2 tablespoons sour cream

Filling:

About 6 medium peaches, peeled and sliced*, or 1 (28-ounce) can and 1 (16-ounce) can sliced peaches in light syrup, well drained

3 large egg yolks

3/4 cup sour cream

3/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

Glaze:

1/2 cup peach preserves or jelly, warmed

1 tablespoon frozen lemonade concentrate

Preheat the oven the 375º F.

To make the crust, place the flour, butter, and sour cream in food processor and pulse to combine. When the dough has formed a ball, pat with lightly floured hands into the bottom and sides of an ungreased 10-inch tart pan with a removable bottom and 1/2-inch sides, or a round au gratin dish. Bake for about 15 minutes, until the crust is set but not browned. Let cool while preparing the filling.

Lower the oven temperature to 350º F.

To make the filling, if using fresh peaches, peel and thickly slice the peaches. Arrange the fresh or canned peach slices in overlapping circles on top of the crust, until it%26#039;s completely covered. Overfill the crust, as peaches will draw up during cooking. Combine the egg yolks, sour cream, sugar, and flour and beat until smooth. Pour the mixture over the peaches.

Place the tart pan on a baking sheet and bake for about 1 hour, until the custard sets and is pale golden in color. Cover with an aluminum foil tent if the crust gets too dark.

Transfer the tart pan to a wire rack to cool. When cool, remove the side wall of the pan. To make the glaze, combine the preserves or jelly and lemonade. Spread with a pastry brush over the top of the warm tart. Serve the tart warm, at room temperature, or chilled.

*Cook%26#039;s Note: If using fresh peaches, sprinkle with a little lemon juice after slicing.

Ingredients

Poached Peaches

6 ripe peaches (stems trimmed)

1 vanilla pod

250ml water

250ml white wine or sparkling white wine

200g caster sugar

Raspberry Sauce

200g raspberries

100ml poaching syrup

To Serve

vanilla ice-cream

6 mint leaves

Method

Poached Peaches: Place the water, white wine, sugar and vanilla pod in a saucepan, stir it until the sugar has dissolved. Slowly bring it to the boil then reduce it to a simmer, leave it to cook for 10 minutes. Place the peaches in the syrup and cook them gently for 15 minutes until they are soft but still hold their form. Remove them from the liquid and allow them to cool slightly then peel them. Refrigerate the peaches with a little poaching liquid over them until ready to serve. Set aside 100ml of the poaching syrup for the raspberry sauce and place the rest in a well sealed container in the refrigerator for future use. The syrup will last a couple of weeks in the refrigerator or freeze it for 3 months.

Raspberry Sauce: Puree the raspberries with the reserved poaching syrup. Strain the sauce through a fine sieve and set aside until ready to use.

To Serve: Place the poached peach in the centre of each plate and place a mint leaf where the stem was. Place 2 scoops of vanilla ice-cream besides the each peach. Drizzle a little of the raspberry puree around each plate and serve.
Reply:Sprinkle peach halves with cinnamon, spray with Pam then grill. Top with Dannon vanilla creme yogurt (light side) or ice cream for yummy endings.

Spicy peach butter recipes?

Spicy peach butter recipes?
This recipe includes canning instructions.

SPICED PEACH BUTTER

10 large fresh peaches, (about 4 lbs.)

Juice of 2 lemons

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon ground cloves

1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Sugar to taste*

Drop peaches in boiling water for 30 seconds to loosen skin. Peel and pit peaches and cut into chunks. Place peach chunks in a large pan with enough water to prevent sticking and cook 15 to 20 minutes or until soft. Puree the peaches in a food processor and return to the saucepan, adding spices. Simmer over low heat, stirring frequently, 30 to 35 minutes or until the puree thickens. Add sugar to taste. Continue to simmer until thickened.

When butter reaches desired thickness; fill clean, hot, sterilized ½ pint jars with peach butter, leaving ¼ inch headspace. Remove air bubbles by sliding a nonmetallic spatula between the jar and food; press gently on the food to release trapped air. Repeat procedure 2 to 3 times around jar. Wipe rim and threads of jar with a clean, damp cloth. Apply lids that have been treated according to manufacturer directions. Center heated lid on jar with sealing compound next to glass. Screw band down evenly and firmly until a point of resistance is met—fingertip tight.

Process in a hot water bath at 190 degrees F for 10 minutes. Remove jars from canner; set them upright on a towel to cool. Bands should not be retightened. Let jars cool 12 to 24 hours. After jars are cool, test for a seal by pressing the center of the lid. If the lid does not flex up and down, the lid is sealed. Remove the bands. Wipe jars and lids with a clean, damp cloth. Label and store jars in a cool, dry, dark place. Yield: 4 8-ounce jars

*Rule of thumb: for every cup of fruit pulp add ½ cup of sugar.

Does anyone have an awesome Peach Cobbler recipe NOT on the Internet? Traditional/Passed Down/Home?

I%26#039;m looking fo an outstanding peach cobbler recipe. My boyfriend favorite dessert is a good ole souther peach cobbler. Tonight we%26#039;re goin%26#039; over to our friend house, who are about twice are age and always welcome us in and the neighboorhood is all their friends-- their down south workin folk, the wife has MS and the husband is a power and light lineman, and they always make ME feel so at home and accept me, and he introduced me to them. She%26#039;s an amazing cook and even though I have an eating disoder that I struggle with, yet I always feel comfortable there. I bake better than I cook, so I like to bring something, so I bring a dessert I%26#039;m going to the farmers market today and last time at the grocer saw some spectacular peaches, so I figure they%26#039;re coming into season. So I%26#039;m looking for REAL Peach Cobbler recipe that%26#039;s tried and true, original, and really worth the fresh ingredients and time...I can find a lot online and books obviously but everyone has those...

Does anyone have an awesome Peach Cobbler recipe NOT on the Internet? Traditional/Passed Down/Home?
In this recipe you can use either fresh or canned peaches. If using fresh, peel and slice peaches. Make a simple syrup, 1 cup sugar and 3/4 cup water mixed together in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil, add fresh peaches, stir to coat and turn off heat. Allow the peaches to stay in the syrup until you are ready to use them. If using canned use one large can of sliced peaches in syrup (not water).

Here%26#039;s the recipe:

1 cup milk

1 cup flour

1 cup sugar

1 stick butter

dash of cinnamon

peaches...either one large can or 2 1/2 cups fresh sliced in syrup.

Mix milk, flour, sugar and cinnamon together in bowl. In dutch oven or large baking dish melt the one stick of butter. Once that is melted, pour the milk mixture on top of it. DO NOT STIR. Add your peaches, including syrup, on top of that, and once again do NOT stir. Now just bake in oven until your crust is golden brown. Bake at 350*, and it usually takes 30 to 45 minutes, depending on your oven. This is the recipe my Grandma passed down to me. We are from Louisiana by the way.

Also this recipe is very easy to adjust. If you have a lot of peaches (fresh) you can make it a larger cobbler by adding additional milk, flour, sugar. All you have to do is keep those three ingredients same amount. Add one additional tablespoon of butter per each half cup of additional ingredients.

I hope this helps. Any questions or problems, just email me.

Enjoy

Quicka and easy peach cobbler recipe?

we have a couple peach trees and the peaches are going to start rotting and i would like to make a cobbler with fresh peaches. so if anyone has a good simple recipe please share. thanks a bunch

Quicka and easy peach cobbler recipe?
Here%26#039;s one that our family does, but using canned peaches. It%26#039;s super easy, although I%26#039;m not certain how the fresh peaches would translate (honestly, I can%26#039;t get ripe peaches at the grocery stores, so I%26#039;ve kinda given up trying).

Pour two large cans of sliced peaches into a 9 x 13 baking dish

In a separate bowl, cut 1 stick of butter into one package of dry yellow cake mix.

Sprinkle this mixture onto the peaches.

Bake at 350 until the topping is golden brown - usually 45 minutes to an hour.

FYI, this recipe also works really well if you substitute the peaches for pumpkin custard, just like you%26#039;d make for pie.

Blueish grey, white and pinky peach wedding colors?

Ok, So I love love love the color scheme of this cake. Blueish grey, white and then some peachy pink colored flowers? What are your thoughts? I was thinking - blue ties around glass flower vases, white or peach flowers, possibly blue/grey bridesmaid dresses with white flowers, bride carrying peach flowers etc etc. Maybe throw a darker brighter/red in there somewhere just for little details to give the delicate theme a little punch. Give her a reason to want to be near you. Positive reinforcement training is the way to go with this.

For some reason you were never able to build trust with her.

Figure out what her favorite food is. Remove that from her regular diet. Every time you go near her cage, toss the treat into her bowl. Make sure it%26#039;s itty-bitty...just a seed or a small piece of whatever. This way you can repeat this without her getting filled up after 2 or 3 passes.

She will eventually realize that you being near her is %26quot;pleasant%26quot;. She begins relating you to the treat and looks forward to seeing you whether you have the treat or not.

Next, hold a treat outside the cage for her to take from your hand. You are simply building trust.

Next, open the cage and offer from your hand. After that, arrange the treat so she has to step up on your hand to get the treat. Every time she does anything right, praise wildly! GooodGirrrl!

Move onto her having to come to the door to step up and get the treat. Take it slow and easy. Again, you are building trust.

You have to build that up, and give her a reason to WANT to come to you. Eventually, if she remains flighted, you will probably be able to teach her to fly to you on cue.

Personally, I clip my birds because they are %26quot;Demo%26quot; birds...They occasionally visit schools and travel with me to many places, so it%26#039;s safer that way. Free-flight training is extremely demanding and takes a long time. Clipping is an option for you if you feel you require more control over her environment, at least in her training phase.

Remember, there are 2 secrets to behavior: Everything a thinking being does, he or she is attempting to accomplish one of 2 things.

They are either trying to get to it, or attain it, or they are trying to escape it or avoid it.

That%26#039;s it.

If you think about it, life is driven by those 2 motivations. There is nothing smaller or simpler than this.

Everything and anything a human or animal does involves one of these 2 motivations. If you keep that in mind, training becomes very easy.

If you keep this up and ease her into a positively motivated situation where she sees that being with you is getting her something, she will lbegin to respond positively to your words and presence.

Look up Positive Reinforcement Training. There are tons of websites out there. It doesn%26#039;t matter if it%26#039;s for dogs, kids or birds, you%26#039;ll get the idea.

If you need more help, don%26#039;t hesitate to contact me.

Good Luck.
Reply:birds are skimpy and have mental problems-at least my bird does!!!!!!!lol
Reply:You call her a %26quot;Peach face%26quot; so I think she is a %26quot;love bird%26quot; They really are notoriously grumpy, they make threatening noises with beak open as do some untrained parakeets, but believe me the little %26quot;love bird%26quot; can deliver quite a strong bite! They tend to be quite standoffish if they have not been hand raise . So you are lucky that she allows you to hold her. Perhaps your previous one was hand fed and raised if it enjoyed handling. These are very colorfull and active little comedians to watch and enjoy but it%26#039;s very few that become very friendly if not hand raised.
Reply:I actually had a similar situation like this happen to me when I got a peach face. She wouldn%26#039;t bite me, but I would hold her for a minute or two and then she would fly away, the only time she would come near me was when I gave her a treat, and even that was rare. Turned out that she wasn%26#039;t hand fed, so people were strangers to her, I%26#039;m thinking this mgiht be your case. You can do a couple things. Try working with Suki by giving him/her treats often. Another thing is take her into a darker room, not pitch black, but maybe just have a lamp on or something, preferrably the room that the cage IS NOT IN, and try holding her that way, she will be more dependent on you since its dark. Also make sure she has a really good wing clip, this also makes her more dependent. Your last option is to just accept that she won%26#039;t be very loving and either rehome her for a sweet one, or keep her for posterity. Another thought is she might be stressed and thats why she doesn%26#039;t want to be out of her cage. Is she in a high traffic area ie a kitchen where there might be several other people, sometimes lovebirds can be rather skiddish. Both of mine are in the kitchen, but they%26#039;re very friendly, so I feel confident leaving them in there. I don%26#039;t really know all your circumstances, but hopefully these tips will help! Good luck!
Reply:i too have a peach face lovey.. named chance.. i hand fed and raised love birds.. they are pretty tempermental but very loving birds..

Reply:you have to be persistant (im guessing shes a lovebird) they have to be hand tamed from the beginning otherwise you wont have any luck. hand feds are the best...but you also have to put in your time to hold and pay attention to the bird.

Apple Pie versus Peach Pie Or Apple Cobbler versus Peach Cobbler. Which do you prefer? Tell me why.?

I really love Apple Pies especially home made ones from scratch. Peach Pies are good also. Funny thing is I can%26#039;t stand eating fresh apples or peaches. I%26#039;m kinda wierd like that. Love Chocolate Ice Cream but despise Chocolate Pudding.

Both but I would choose peach cobbler first.

Apple pie is good with raisins for some reason.

Spraying apple and peach tree- when and how?

I have a peach tree, and two apple trees in my backyard, I live in Ohio. The trees are 5-10 years old, not sure exactly how old. Every year some sort of bugs get in and ruin the fruit. THe aples are stunted and don%26#039;t grow all the way for insect infestation, and half the peaches are ruined. I know about thinning the peaches.

I want to know when should I spray my trees, and with what, to prevent the insects and get a decent fruit crop this year.

Spraying apple and peach tree- when and how?
Spray your fruit trees as soon as the temps reach 45-50 degrees with horticultural or neem oil, safe for fruit trees. This oil will smother the adults, nymphs and larvae bugs which over winter. Then spray every 2-3 weeks to control any newer infestations. Your local garden center will turn you in the right direction in which product to use that is safe for fruiting trees.
Reply:I spray every 14 days. If you spray things that aren%26#039;t going to last very long you need to spray more. As a homeowner seven and malathion are two good sprays and captan for the fungicide. Will be cheaper to look somewhere for a fruit tree spray mix so you only have to buy one bag. If you use a hand sprayer with a wettable powder, strain the spray with cheese cloth so the sprayer will not clog up. Store the wettable powder dry so it will keep. If you use seven make sure you don%26#039;t put to much in or the chemical will burn the trees in the sun. Very safe to use though because you can let people enter the spray zone after it drys.

If you what to remove the leaves now then pick them and burn them.

Once the leaves have dropped in the fall spray the tree with a copper spray to prevent the disease returning next year.

Peach cobbler ques.?

i have recipe for peach cobbler and i will like to know do you ppour the juice off the peaches

Peach cobbler ques.?
depends on your recipe, actually.

if you are making a cobbler with a crunchy top, you will want to discard most, not all, of the juice.

if you are making a cobbler where you make a batter that rises through the fruit, creating a more cake like top, you can keep about 2/3 of the juice.
Reply:This is pretty much the recipe I use when in a hurry. I use all the juice with the canned peaches, I use margarine instead of butter and don%26#039;t use a blender....I just stir until almost smooth.

Let is sit after removing from oven about 10 min.gives everything chance to settle and juices to thicken. This one will Not have the crunchy top.
Reply:If the recipe didn%26#039;t say to drain the peaches, then don%26#039;t. Your recipe may require the extra liquid to be in there......
Reply:What juice? Canned peaches? I couldn%26#039;t tell you without knowing the recipe since I always use frozen or fresh peaches for pies and cobblers.

Peach Cobbler Filling??

I%26#039;m pregnant.. I have a craving for peach cobbler but I%26#039;ve never made it before. I have a thick pie crust that I%26#039;m going to use. Does any one have a quick %26amp; easy recipe for the filling? I want to be able to quickly put something together tonight.. something simple like sugar, peaches and cinnamon or something. Thanks.

Peach Cobbler Filling??
use a large can of peaches-undrained, 1/4c. flour, 1/2c. sugar, 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, and 1/8 tsp. nutmeg and 4 tbsp. ice cold butter. Pour the peaches into the pie pan or the pan you%26#039;re using. Then in a mixing bowl, combine all your dry ingredients together, and sprinkle over the peaches. cut up the butter into tiny chunks and dot it over the pie filling. Cover with the crust, and cook in preheated 350 oven for 25-30 minutes.
Reply:i add a little nutmeg if you have it on hand i use the jiffy box recipe it good
Reply:Just substitute peaches instead of apples in a cobbler recipe. They also have recipes on Bisquit boxes for cobblers.
Reply:You can basically follow an apple pie recipe and toss it in the crust. . . .For a cobbler, you%26#039;ll want a crumb topping- oats, cinnamon, etc. It%26#039;s really easy- not much more than what you said: peaches, sugar and some nutmeg.
Reply:http://www.cooks.com/rec/search/0,1-0,qu...

Here are some cobbler recipes..... are you wanting cobbler or pie? They are two different things.....
Reply:If you are using canned peaches, drain the syrup (save it in a separate container) %26amp; add sugar and a little cinnamon to the peach slices. Stir a couple of teaspoons of corn starch into about 1/4 cup of the syrup until all the lumps are gone %26amp; pour that back into the peaches. Now you have peach pie filling.

If you are using fresh peaches, mix your sugar, cinnamon %26amp; dry corn starch together %26amp; toss with pealed, sliced peaches. No need to add liquid - the peaches will make their own as they cook.

I%26#039;ve never used a recipe for cobblers %26amp; I%26#039;ve made a lot of them, so I can%26#039;t give you exact measurements. Just play around with it. You%26#039;ll do great - and congratuations %26amp; best wishes for the baby. :)

I found this recipe on the internet from the Salt Lick Restaurant in Austin, TX. Everyone loves this recipe so much I have to make a double batch! Feel free to cut back on the sugar. Everyone has and it still comes out perfect. :D Personally, I always use two bags of frozen peaches instead of canned.

PEACH PIE -- looking for a good recipe for a crumble-top pie.?

I went to a cookout many years ago where someone had brought a peach pie. It was in a pastry crust, had peach filling (not too sweet) and instead of a pastry top, it had a crumble top. I could probably experiment and come up with something similar, but if you have a tried-and-true recipe for this, I%26#039;d really appreciate having it. Thanks!

PEACH PIE -- looking for a good recipe for a crumble-top pie.?
PEACH STREUSEL PIE:

Pastry for single-crust pie (9 inches)

1/4 cup sugar

2 tablespoons cornstarch

2 tablespoons lemon juice

5 cups sliced fresh or frozen peaches, thawed

TOPPING:

2/3 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup granola cereal (without raisins)

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 cup cold butter or margarine

Line a 9-in. pie plate with pastry; flute edges. line the pastry shell with a double thickness of heavy-duty foil. Bake at 450° for 5 minutes. Remove foil; bake 5 minutes longer. Cool on a wire rack.

In a bowl, combine the sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice and peaches. Spoon into pastry shell. In another bowl, combine the brown sugar, granola, flour and cinnamon; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over filling. Bake at 375° for 35-40 minutes or until filling is bubbly. Cool on a wire rack.

9 pounds fresh peaches

2 teaspoons Fruit Fresh, (fruit preservative)

3 1/2 cups sugar

1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons quick cooking tapioca

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

1 teaspoon grated lemon zest

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 9-inch pie crust

1/2 stick (4 tablespoons) butter

1 teaspoon cinnamon or nutmeg

To peel the peaches, first bring a pot of water to a boil. Using a paring knife, score the peaches with an X into the skins only. Gently drop the peaches in the boiling water for approximately 30 seconds to 1 minute. Using a slotted spoon, remove the peaches and place them in iced water for a minute. The skins should slip off easily. If not, place back into the boiling water for another 30 seconds.

Slice the peaches and put them in a bowl. Sprinkle Fresh Fruit and sugar, and stir into peaches. Stir in remaining ingredients and mix well. Freeze pie filling.

May substitute 6 cups of frozen sliced peaches, not canned peaches.

On pie baking day, for each pie, simply place frozen pie filling in pie shell, add 1/2 a stick of butter and sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes in a preheated 375 degree oven.

For crunch topping, combine flour, sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl. Using a fork, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.

During last 15 mins of baking sprinkle crumb topping over top of pie.

Place pie on a cookie sheet to catch any juices that may bubble from the pies.

Crumb Topping:

2/3 cup all-purpose flour

1/3 cup old fashioned oats

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

1 stick of butter, at room temperature cut in cubes
Reply:put your pie crust in the oven for the briefest of times...just til barely looks cooked. you don%26#039;t have to, but it will keep your finished pie from having a %26#039;doughy, pale, soggy bottom%26#039; that people will leave on the plate. peel your peaches...three or four at least, slice drop into a bowl with sugar/a bit of flour, a dash of salt, and some cinnamon if you want, and coat the fruit. now put the fruit into the pie. sprinkle some of the sugar over it, mix the rest with some more flour, cut up pieces of real butter, more sugar (and cinnamon). mix in some oats if you want, mix til crumbly and lumpy and spread over fruit, them bake til golden brown and peach juice is bubbling up through the cracks. good with vanilla ice cream. make more than one...and, yes, it can be frozen, but don%26#039;t plan on having any left.

Peach tea?
Buy peach flavored tea bags. Put 6 bags of tea in a 2qt pitcher filled with water. Let it sit on your counter for 3-4 hours. When it is as dark as you like then pour over ice and serve or refrigerate. You can add fresh peach slices and mint leaves (optional) when you serve the tea. Also add sugar or sweetener to each glass of tea or to the pitcher if you like it sweetened.

Reply:My guess would be: Thaw the peaches and mix with butter. Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Lay the peaches in a baking dish and spoon on cake mix. One box will probably be enough for 2-3 9x13 inch pans. Bake.

The alternate might be to pour in all the cake mix first and then put the peaches over it.

Peach fuzz beard...?

for starters im a 17 year old guy, have had peach fuzz for a while now. i always shaved it, but for 3 weeks now i havent, and its growing pretty long kinda, but that%26#039;s the thing... its just a goatee of peach fuzz.... i want it to turn into a beard or something already.

i dont wanna shave it cuz my friend at work said his started out like that, but then about 2 months later after no shaving, it turned into a beard.

i was even thinking about buying a hair dye or something and dying it black but idk. just wondering how, or when it will turn into actual beard hair lol

Peach fuzz beard...?
How is the hair on the rest of your body - like your legs and head? If the hair on your legs and head is very fine then you may never get a big heavy beard. If the hair on your legs and head is normal or thick then you probably just need to give it a while - you%26#039;re towards the end of puberty and your facial hair just may not have developed fully yet.

Well, if your hair is slowly darkening like mine did when I was your age then your beard hair will darken along with it. I would not try to dye it - you will end up with dye all over your skin and you%26#039;ll have a big mess. You%26#039;ll look like you have a cartoon beard.
Reply:Hunnie, you have a little while to go... yur only 17.. you just want that beard to make you look a little older so you can buy smokes and alcohol without anyone asking for ID :P

Thats okay though.. lol your not the only one!

But to answer your question... Since your only 17 i will have to say that it will probably be another month or so... atleast .. i dunno how it looks righ tnow.. but from the way you describe it.. it seems it will turn out pretty good in about... a month or so... Good luck!

Peach Tree Leaf Curl!?!?!?!?
The best organic spray to use is Lime-Sulfur. You spray it when the tree is dormant in the very early spring before the buds swell. You can%26#039;t spray it now or it will burn the leaves.

A fungicide called %26quot;Bravo%26quot; can also be used and sprayed now. But it%26#039;s really to late for this year.

Your tree could loose most of the leaves and have no energy for the crop. The tree will probably live but be very weak. I would give it more nitrogen fertilizer. Spray it next year and you can expect 100% control.
Reply:It%26#039;s a fungal problem. The spores are already present, and you can%26#039;t get rid of it now. You *might* be able to stop the spread.

Anyway...in the fall, rake the leaves and remove them from the property. The spores will overwinter in the fallen leaves.

Then in late winter - you%26#039;ll need to spray the whole tree with a fungicide to prevent the infestation next year.

Fungus is one of those problems that once you actually SEE it, it%26#039;s kinda late to do anything for that year. Now that the fungus has %26quot;found%26quot; your tree...continue the hygiene of removing the leaves every fall, and applying preventative fungicides in late winter/early spring.

ive made apple crumble several times and dont cook my apples first

so the canned peaches should be fine*

at 350F

for about 20-25min

Dont leave the juice in

dont forget bout the crumble

have you made an apple crumble before..follow same directions but instead use the drained canned peaches
Reply:Peach crumble is good, I made one today, the peaches are fine straight from the tin, you will need a small amount of juice say half way up the peach layer - then top with crumble. The peaches are really sweet so you may want to reduce the sugar content of the crumble.

All tinned food is pre cooked - open and warm if required.
Reply:You won%26#039;t need to cook them unless you want them really soft. Drain them and cut them up into chunky pieces. You could reduce the juice a little in a pan with some additional spices to pour over but don%26#039;t use all the juice from the can as it will be soggy!.
Reply:Don%26#039;t need cooking beforehand....by the way can I come round for some. I like plenty of custard, thanks.
Reply:They are fine just put your crumble topping on there no cause for them to be cooked just put a little bit of juice inside the crumble dish. and cook the crumble topping for about 35-40 minutes on 200f electric.
Reply:Straight out of the tin!

Peach tree homom?

well i started a peach tree on a bet with a friend that it wouldn%26#039;t grow (i won the bet) and i realized how stupid it was to start it this late in the season but i thought my friend was going to take it afterwords, lol well guess what didn%26#039;t happen, could it live inside at 40 degree temps and lower (old farm house very drafty in my room)? the temps have been droping where i%26#039;m at, i%26#039;ve got it under a lamp, but it%26#039;s just poked through and i%26#039;m worried that since it%26#039;s soo new that it cant take the temps. would a plastic-wrap mini greenhouse work? i been wondering if anyone has tried making one, did it work or was the plastic too thin?any other info from people who have grown peach trees( or other trees) indoors on how to do anything with them would really be great. thanks for any and every bit of help anyone gives me. meg

Peach tree homom?
Temperature shouldn%26#039;t be a problem but don%26#039;t you have a room that%26#039;s warmer? Light might be a problem. Has to be in a bright room if not in direct sunlight.

And yes, you could make a minigreenhouse but you still need the light. If you don%26#039;t have a bright room or sunny window you;ll have to put artificial light on it.
Reply:you are going to have to try to carry it over as it is too young to survive on its own. Long sunlight will keep it growing...you%26#039;ll have to supplement with extra hours of light. Think summer sunlight hours, not winter. Winter sunlight hours may cause it to drop it%26#039;s leaves and try to go dormant....which in the case of a tiny plant...may be permanent dormancy.

thanks in advance

Peach-colored bracelet?
you could wear pretty much any color with it.

i would suggest getting a peach cami/belt/bag to tie in the bracelet.

white/black/brown/gray would look nice

but if you got the cami/belt/bag, you could wear pretty much any color besides pinks and oranges that are similar.

heres a cute bag...

Peach Salsa?

When serving peach salsa with salmon for dinner, but on a time constraint,

can peach salsa be made the night before?

Or will it become too mushy?

Peach Salsa?
First, don%26#039;t stress about this!!!! It will be fine overnight, and the fact that you%26#039;re making it in advance will allow the flavors to mingle and develop a deeper, more flavorful salsa......Oh, and you might want to try your same recipe for peach salsa but substitute mangoes for the peaches.............Delish!!!! Enjoy!!

Christopher

1 cup diced tomato

1/2 cup thinly sliced green onion

1/4 cup diced red bell pepper

2 tablespoons lime juice, about 1 medium lime

1 to 2 teaspoons finely minced hot or mild chile pepper, or to taste

1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro, or to taste

dash ginger

dash garlic powder

1 tablespoon orange or pineapple juice, optional

dash freshly ground black pepper

sugar or honey, if desired, to taste

PREPARATION:

Combine all salsa ingredients, tasting and adding sugar or honey if you would like the salsa a little sweeter. It really depends on the sweetness of the peaches. Some chopped mango can be used along with peaches in this recipe.

Let stand for 45 minutes or refrigerate for a few hours before serving.

Delicious with grilled fish or pork.

Makes enough for 4 to 6.
Reply:It should be ok. The acid from the lime or lemon juice in the salsa should keep the peach from getting mushy.

Keep it a sealed container in the fridge like a tupperware container.

Actually, it will allow the different flavors to blend and I bet it%26#039;ll be really good.

This one is anime.

This is the same girl in both manga and anime. She is the lead girl.

What art do you like better? Peach Girl the anime or Peach Girl the manga?
peach girl manga. it%26#039;s better to read it and see original work by the author
Reply:manga, it is far more indepth in the story and the emotive artwork. the anime is good for its humorous effect in portraying Kairi and Sae, but other than that, it lacks a lot of the fun bits found in the manga. peach girl is fab. Report It

Reply:I prefer manga over anime in general. While some people thing anime looks better, and its all colored, theres something about the work of someones hands over a desk. That, and anime cant help but ruin a lot of the story like..like in Chrono Cross, Trigun and many others
Reply:Anime. Its got great color and bold out lines to make the picture pop. I unfortunatly and not a fan of jap animation but if i had to choose amine would be it.

Peach Crisp Thickener?

I want to bake peach crisp in the morning to take to my mother and others in her nursing home. Do you think flour, corn starch or quick tapioca makes a better thickening agent for peach crisp? We like our topping and other flavors (almond extract instead of vanilla or lemon juice), but I%26#039;m undecided on the thickening agent.

Thanks in advance.

Peach Crisp Thickener?
I like to use cornstarch with fruit recipes because it doesn%26#039;t add any flavor, and it doesn%26#039;t take very much of it to thicken.
Reply:corn starch is best
Reply:Corn starch is definitely best as it won%26#039;t make your peach mixture cloudy. Make sure you dissolve it first so it become lumpy.

Peach Tree Advice?

So I just bought a peach tree the other day a %26quot;california curl free%26quot; I%26#039;ve planted it in an area that gets a good amount of sun and water... It%26#039;s on a a bit of a slope (the hill I planted it on) but it is planted staright... I%26#039;ve named her lulu. Any good peach tree advice for first time growers?

Peach Tree Advice?
In the spring before the buds swell you must spray with dormant oil and Bordeaux (lime/sulphur) Mix to suffocate overwintering insects and to prevent peach leaf curl/blister. This is important. Then, depending on how %26quot;organic%26quot; you want to go, you might want to consider spraying with fruit tree spray (Sevin and methoxychlor and Captan, I think) Fungi can be a problem. Try to keep th foliage dry, and it will benefit from being in an area with air good circulation. Last, as much as it hurts, you want to thin the fruit to one every 4%26quot; or so, so they will grow to a decent size.
Reply:Hang reflective metallic ribbon all over your tree to keep birds from eating your peaches. My mom does this and it works.
Reply:Nurseries have always told me not to fertilize for the first year. Don%26#039;t fertilize it until it%26#039;s in it%26#039;s second year of growth or 2 years old. I%26#039;m not sure why, (sorry) but we did once and the tree did not produce fruit for several years after. Good luck

Can you simply make peach wine if you have a peach tree?

I just found that i have a peach tree in my back yard, and i remember that peach wine tastes amazing when its nice and cold... is it possible to make it at home just from the peaches from the tree and things from the grocery store?

Can you simply make peach wine if you have a peach tree?
Can you simply have sex if you have a penis?
Reply:peach wine?

wine is made from grapes

also there%26#039;s a strong drink from plums but surely not wine
Reply:yes
Reply:the fermenting process (how wine becomes alcoholic) is pretty complicated, so if you don%26#039;t do it right you%26#039;re just going to have rotten peach juice.
Reply:Not likely to taste the same as peach wine flavour is made during the fermenting/brewing. Using peaches from trees, I guess you are thinking of soaking them in the wine that you buy from the grocer. No, it will not be the same. But no harm trying. Don%26#039;t forget the wine itself has its own flavours and they may or not complement the peach flavour.

Best is to go buy another bottle of peach wine.
Reply:you can if u want to. u r just now noticing a peach tree in your back yard?
Reply:if you leave it in the fridge long enough it will turn into alcohol but probably not wine
Reply:uh... yeah. just do like any other wine making add some sugar and some yeast. Find a recipe online it is easy. stew the peaches and strain them with like a cheese cloth or the best you can do.... then mix all ingredients into a glass container put a balloon over the top and when the balloon fills up with air and starts to go down then viola... it is good. Make sure to cook your peaches so they are sterilized and boil your container and utensils. There is also a good recipe for a liquor made out of Pineapples. the website provided gives a good easy recipe. they also have recipes for wines out of almost anything
Reply:I have fermented apple juice from apples that grow in the yard here. And I have had fermented pear ale... you can search the net to find out how or buy a book on fermenting.... it will not be grape wine, but it will be fermented with some alcohol content.... bet it will be good. I have a book titled %26quot;Wild Fermentation%26quot; written by Sandor Ellix Katz. This is where I learned how to ferment apples my homemade apple juice.

Hope you have much success! All the bet, Leah

Peach Tree vs Squirrels question?

We planted a peach tree in our back yard almost 3 years ago when my father in law passed (in his memory). Mind you, my husband and I are not the garden out side people, we just thought it would be nice. Last year it bloomed, but the squirrels ate the 3 peaches. This year at least 100 blooms have appeared! How can we stop the squirrels?

Peach Tree vs Squirrels question?
If the squirrels are are only getting to your tree by climbing up the trunk, just wrap the the trunk with a 2 foot wide piece of sheet metal high enough up so that the squirrels can%26#039;t jump right over it. They can%26#039;t get a grip on the slick surface, so they can%26#039;t climb up past it. You can get aluminum material in a brown finish that will not stand out so much.

Other than that, the only way to stop them is to eliminate them all together. Consider a Havahart trap designed just for squirrels. But you%26#039;ll have to take them several miles away or they%26#039;ll come right back for more free food!

Hope that helps!
Reply:Did your FIL like squirrels? Maybe he sees them (from heaven) and thinks its funny!

Short of killing (illegal?)or trapping the squirrels there%26#039;s not much else you can do. You could try putting cayenne on the peaches but that would ruin them for you to eat also. Maybe try giving them an alternative food source, away from the peach tree.
Reply:You can shoot them, or trap them. When they cause garden damage it is the only certain way. It is also possible to turn your garden into an anti-Squirrel Alcatraz in the vain attempt to send them elsewhere. Shoot them.
Reply:I don%26#039;t know that it%26#039;s possible to stop them all the time.

Go to a home and garden store and ask if they have a treatment for the trunk of the tree that will deter the squirrels or cause them to slip off the trunk.

Better yet, harvest the peaches as soon as they appear and sell them or eat them or can them or preserve them.....

Two questions regarding a peach tree. Please answer.?

Me and my family recently decided to rent a new house and when we were taking a tour, we saw a peach tree in the backyard. When we got up close to it, we saw that there were two peaches that looked like they recently appeared, but were not ripe. Finally to my two questions:

1. How long will it take for the two peaches to ripen so we can pick them and eat them?

2. Will we be able to plant another peach tree in the back yard?

Thanks so much

Two questions regarding a peach tree. Please answer.?
If the peaches are very small, it might take a month or better for them to ripen. You do not say what area you are from, but peaches are beginning to get ripe in the South now.

By all means, plant another tree. That will help with pollenation.

Give your trees a good does of fertilizer this fall. You might even put one of those slow release spikes in the ground right now. Fertilize again in the spring. When your trees start to bloom, you want to spray them for insects. The insects that invade peaches actually attack the flowers. They lay their eggs there, which turn into the worms that eat their way out of your peaches.

Have a peachy day!

How did princess toadstool end up being called Peach?

How did Princess Toadstool from Super Mario end up being called Peach. I know in the Japanese version she was always called Peach. I remember up until Super Mario 64 she was always called Princess Toadstool. Then in Mario 64 she signed herself Princess Toadstool and then peach underneath. So I assumed her name must be Peach Toadstool and we only find this out in Mario 64. But since that game she is always called Peach or Princess Peach I%26#039;ve seen. Any explanation is Peach her first name or what?

How did princess toadstool end up being called Peach?
Here%26#039;s what i got from Wikipedia. Hope this helps!

%26quot;From %26quot;Toadstool%26quot; to %26quot;Peach%26quot;

In Japan, the Princess%26#039;s name has always been Peach, but when Super Mario Bros was released in the United States, Nintendo of America decided to rename her Princess Toadstool.[7] She kept this name throughout the 8-bit and 16-bit video game eras. Often, however, in-game text only referred to her as %26quot;Princess%26quot; or %26quot;The Princess,%26quot; most likely a result of space constraints. In Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars she was referred to in menus as just %26quot;Toadstool.%26quot; However, if Princess Toadstool gets eaten by Belome, he mentions that she tastes %26quot;peachy%26quot;.

In Super Mario Bros. Super Show episode The Trojan Koopa after gaining %26#039;super powers%26#039; from a Starman she says %26quot;Princess P to the Rescue%26quot;, most likely a hint that somewhere in her formal name, after %26quot;Princess%26quot; there is another %26quot;P%26quot;. However, other episodes use her original English name, Princess Toadstool.

In the Super Mario Adventures comics, while the Princess was always referred to as Princess Toadstool, her castle was adorned with many decorations that resembled peaches.

The English translation of Yoshi%26#039;s Safari (1993) was the first usage of the name %26quot;Peach%26quot; outside of Japan; however, the name did not catch on at that time. When Super Mario 64 was released in North America, she signed a letter to Mario as %26quot;Princess Toadstool%26quot; and then hand-wrote %26quot;Peach%26quot; (thus %26quot;Princess Toadstool, Peach%26quot;). Throughout most of the game, she is still referred to as Princess Toadstool. In subsequent sequels and spinoffs, however, she has come to be known only as Princess Peach.[7] The only exceptions to this are certain ports which retain the name. In the official Mario Megasite, her full name is given as %26quot;Peach Toadstool%26quot;. It should be noted that in Japan, the re-releases of Super Mario 64 (both the Nintendo 64 Rumble Pak version and DS remake) feature the same voice-work, and the Princess still signs her letter as %26quot;Princess Toadstool, Peach%26quot; in the Japanese version.
Reply:Ok i have one that has been bothering me.. why do the call her Toadstool? She doesnt look like anything like toad. Report It

Reply:I read a long time ago in the Nintendo Power Magazine that her full name is: Princess Pauline Peach Toadstool.

Don%26#039;t remember much but they were explaining stuff about the original Donkey Kong game and it said stuff like Mario was called Jump Man and that the girl was called Pauline and later they turned her to Peach/Princess Toadstool and that her full name is: Princess Pauline Peach Toadstool
